The DragonFly Is A VERY Expensive Piece Of Equipment

First and foremost, the DragonFly by Nano Dimension isn’t your run of the mill, buy it on Amazon.com 3D printer. In fact, the going rate of the DragonFly ranges from $50,000 to $100,000 depending on the capabilities that the customer is looking for.

Considering the prie range of these printers, we can say that the average price of a DragonFly 3D printing system is about $75,000. Should this be the case, 51 systems sold means that the company has generated $3.825 million in the very beginning of its commercial launch.

It’s also worth mentioning that the 3D printing concept is still relatively new. In fact, it wasn’t until very recently that manufacturers and researchers in a wide range of industries noticed the full potential of 3D printing and started using these systems in their work.

This is great for NNDM. At the end of the day, the company is on the leading edge of an emerging industry. In any emerging industry, there will be clear winners and clear losers. Those that make the big moves first tend to be the winners.

In my view, NNDM is making the right moves and creating a place as the cornerstone of the 3D printing market early on, giving it a strong chance of becoming one of these winners.
