Welcome to our inaugeral Biotech Wath post. Moving forward, every week, we will be publishing an article announcing key events to watch in the world of biotech in the week ahead.
These events will include:
- PDUFA Dates – PDUFA dates are dates that the FDA has committed to providing decisions with regard to New Drug Applications and Biologics License Applications. Click here to learn how to profit from PDUFA dates.
- Advisory Committee Meetings – Advisory Committee meetings take place before PDUFA dates. In these meetings the FDA discusses the potential of approving a new drug, biological agent, or device with a committee of experts on the topic. At the end of the meeting, a vote takes place. While this vote does not determine approval or rejection, it sets the stage, leaning the scales one way or another.
In the week ahead, we have quite a few heavy weight events. The first three events of the week will be advisory committee meetings for Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NKTR), IntelliPharmaCeutics International (OTCMKTS: IPCIF), and DURECT Corporation (NASDAQ: DRRX). The week closes with a PDUFA date for Aimmune Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: AIMT).
